There is a "total lockdown" in the Theni District which brings more disruption, anxiety and economic instability to the communities that we serve as well as our staff. The situation is dire. In addition to the lack of employment, the restriction on movement, with the army patrolling the streets it is hard for many to provide for their families. Many face the prospect of starvation.
It also means it's even more challenging for our teams to purchase supplies, deliver food parcels and support the vulnerable. Our medical centre has had to shut, our gates to the Rhema Gardens are locked and food has been purchased for two weeks for all the staff and families living in the grounds.
