Emergency Appeal

Hope Gardens has launched an emergency appeal as India battles with this second wave of the virus.

Our appeal will support the vital work that the pastors are doing in the communities bringing relief parcels and also to ensure that our medical centre can continue to provide its essential service

Our after school clubs are open!

The education gap caused by the pandemic is being healed at our after school programmes everyday. Year 9-12 children are benefitting from vital tutoring & 1-2-1 support after school.

State government restrictions are such that schools and our after school clubs are only open for these years 9-12 as there are important exams in years 10 and 12 for the children to prepare for.

Our tutors have stepped up to fill in the gaps in the children’s education, support those who have become disengaged with learning and given specific guidance to those taking 10th and 12th standard national exams.

In KR Thoppur Shanti has also been helping children in Kindergarten as well as they start out on their important learning journey. We are so grateful for our tutors and their flexibility in meeting the needs of their students.

To add some variety to their studies in CumbumMettu (in addition to the daily cricket practice) also on offer are fun sewing lessons.

All this is possible because of your #generosity at Christmas! Thank you!

Zooming you to India!

Wow!

Amazing to catch up with our supporters and Vasthi and Gold to hear how our sewing programme is changing women’s lives.

We are so proud of the trainers, the pastors wives and our generous supporters who have made this initiative a success.

93 women have graduated from our sewing institute, 26 machines have been purchased so that young girls, widows and ladies with huge obstacles in their lives can earn their own income, be independent and feel proud of themselves.

Hope is .... a new bike!

Huge thanks to our amazing supporter who has bought new bikes for Godwin, Daniel and Augustine who all live in the Rhema Gardens. They are thrilled. A great way to get to school, play with your friends and have fun, previously they were sharing one bike with Godwin’s sisters.

Godwin loves cycling, like many 7 year old boys, and during lockdown cycled 26 times around the Gardens to raise money for Hope Gardens what a superstar!

Smashing Sterotypes!

8th March is an important day #iwd2021.

It’s a day where globally we celebrate women's achievements & seek to make this world we live in inclusive. At #hopegardensindia we pledge to continue to smash stereotypes, offer opportunities for all & importantly enable girls to be educated to a level where doors are opened and not shut for them. We believe in leading by example and what fantastic women we have in our communities to do just that. Look no further than Saguntha.
