Emergency appeal for Manipur

Ethnic violence broke out in Manipur on May 3, 2023, with reports of 140 deaths with homes and churches burned, and an estimated 50,000 people displaced.

Hope Gardens are committed to providing relief and support to the people of Manipur affected by this violence.

The violence has been largely concentrated in an area where the majority Meitei community and the tribal Kuki community have been clashing.

The government and army have set up camps to provide shelter and food for the displaced people with different organizations across the country providing medication, food, and support.

We are responding to the situation in Manipur by providing the following:

  • Shelter for displaced families, including food, accommodation, and schools for their children.

  • Part-time work in our paddy fields for some workers.

  • Jobs, accommodation, and food for two Bible college teachers.

  • Education, accommodation, and food for 10 Bible college students who have had their studies disrupted.

We are committed to providing relief and support to the people of Manipur affected by this violence. We believe that everyone deserves to live in peace and security, and we will continue to work to help those who have been affected by this tragedy.

Hope is ....... a new school bus

We are so proud of our school and thrilled that last January it was recognised as the Number One School in the Theni district for its facilities and educational provision by the Theni District Differently Abled Welfare Officer.

One of the USPs of our school is the pick-up and drop off service for all children from their homes by our school bus which enables the children’s parents or carers to work while they are at school.

Great News! We are excited to announce that 100% of our new school bus has now been funded.

Thank you to all our supporters of this essential initiative

Emergency Appeal

Hope Gardens has launched an emergency appeal as India battles with this second wave of the virus.

Our appeal will support the vital work that the pastors are doing in the communities bringing relief parcels and also to ensure that our medical centre can continue to provide its essential service

We did it!

You are amazing! in one week we smashed our target and raised £10,710 to support our medical centre and our after school clubs

As a result of the pandemic we need to extend our opening hours of our medical centre and subsidise the increased amount of patients. This boost of £5,355 will enable our medical centre to meet this increase in demand and give access to healthcare to those most in need.

Our afterschool clubs are shifting to bring educational support to those children who have huge gaps in their education due to the disruption to their schooling since March. Many children are in need of specialist learning support which Hope Gardens can now provide thanks to your generosity.

Running for Hope!

What a fantastic day for a great cause!

An incredible achievement with personal best times broken by Aimee and Polly running her first ever 1/2 marathon - amazing! We are so grateful for this fantastic team of strong women who are up for a challenge! As a result of all their hard work training in the cold winter months £1440 has been raised so far for our Hope for Children and the new sensory facility.
