Elizabeth's Story

On our visit to India Sherry and I had the privilege to meet a wonderful lady called Elizabeth

She told us her story;

My father died when I was a little girl and my father's family completely disowned my mother and my sisters.

We were left with virtually nothing.

Without my Father’s income or support from his family my mother couldn’t afford to send us to school.

I was fortunate that my mother came to know about Hope Gardens which meant that I was able to be sponsored and went to school.

My sponsor helped get through school with good grades. I was then able to train to be a nurse. I now have a great career at our medical centre.

With my income I have managed to purchase a 10x7ft home for myself which I shares with my mother, sister and sometimes my 2 nieces sleep there too.

On the wall next to her front door she has this verse: Zephaniah 3:20 At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home. I will give you honour and praise among all the peoples of the earth when I restore your fortunes before your very eyes,’ says the Lord.

Please keep this lady in your prayers, her whole attitude in life is based around serving others. Her uncle has a piece of land (similar size to her own home) which he refuses to sell to her or let her use and which he just uses for storing rubbish in. Please pray that her Uncle will release that space for her or that God will provide her with a more glorious alternative!
